For An Online Network Marketing Business You Need to...Build a Website!

Build a website! Obviously, if you're wanting to take your network marketing business online, one of the very first things you'll need to do is build a website. (duh)! Many network marketing companies are now offering their distributors duplicated coompany sites to promote their products. However, EVERY distributor in the company has the same site - and therefore, those sites alone will not get YOU found on the internet...there's just too many of the same site, and search engines don't like duplication.

So, what is the answer??? Create your OWN personal website! There are numerous ways to accomplish getting a personal site posted on the web. (Be sure you're familiar with your individual company policies regarding content they allow you to use on a personal site...but even with restrictions - there ARE ways to still build a website that is personal). I'll focus on my favorite that I have found to be fairly easy to use.

If you are already a website guru, you may find these recommendations a little below your expertise, however, the products are certainly useful to even the most experienced of site builders. The most important thing is that you actually build a website one way or another and get online. If you are comfortable doing so and want to build your own site from scratch - by all means, do so. If, however, you're not very techie or don't have a lot of spare time to create a useful site on your own, you'll appreciate the couple of recommendations I have.

My recommendations are in no particular order. I will attempt to explain the different features available from each of them. They all have their unique attributes, you'll have to do a little homework of your own to decide which is the best fit for you.

Something you need to know, if you don't already, is that there's more to just getting a site on the internet. Once you're there, it won't do you much good if nobody finds you. Search engines are your friend - and figuring out the dos and don'ts to attract good ratings from them takes some doing. I touch on some of the techie things regarding being found on the web on another page within this site .  For now, just know that the options listed here are in tune with what you need to do to get your site found by web surfers. I'll explain how each of them are useful - they do differ in this regard.

Website Elements

Once you decide on what product you're going to use to build a website, it's time to determine what things you want to include on your site and what tools and resources you may need to explore to do so.

The first and most important element you need to have a successful website is content - - good, meaningful, useful content. I recommend that you sit down and look at your daily, weekly, monthly schedule and pencil in time on a regular basis that you can commit to spending time writing content for your website. Don't let this scare you - - everyone knows something about something...and if you don't know enough about what you want your site to include - research it until you do (or consider linking to other experts until you become one)!

Another decision you need to make about the elements to include in your website is how people will communicate with you. The obvious way is via email, but let me caution you that it if you simply put an email link on your site, you open yourself up to all kinds of spammers. It really is a shame - you want to be accessible to your audience, but unfortunately, there are people out there who take advantage of their 'know how' and will actually surf for email links posted on the web and use them to spam you!

So, what is the solution to this? Consider adding forms on your site to allow people to communicate with you. Here are a couple of online tools I recommend for building forms within your site:

AWeber Forms

SBI! Forms

Another element you might consider adding to your website are links to educational videos. Check out the videos I link to by going here:

Search Engines

In addition to building a website, you'll need to learn about search engines and how you need them for your online success. Obviously, the goal is to learn to make money online as well as offline. To do so, your site has to be found by those that are searching for what you offer. I've built a page with some information to help you sort through it all.
